What we collect,
and what we don't.
Last updated September 5, 2026
We collect the minimum needed to sell you a book and deliver it: your name, your email, and your order. We never see your card details, we don't sell data to anyone, and we don't add you to a mailing list without you asking.
What we collect
We collect the minimum a small bookshop needs to sell you one PDF and get it to you:
- Personal information: your name and email address, so we can send the download link and your receipt, and whatever you type into the contact form when you write to us.
- Order information: what you bought, when, and for how much, so you can re-download the book and we can honour the refund policy.
- Technical data: the basic facts any web server records — browser type, device, approximate location from your IP address, and the pages you visit.
We do not collect anything about your finances, your holdings, or your trading. We have no reason to, and we don’t want it.
How we use it
We use the information above to:
- process your order, deliver the book and send your receipt;
- keep your download available and process any refund you ask for;
- reply when you contact us;
- keep the site working, secure and fast, and understand which pages are useful;
- meet our legal and tax obligations.
We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to join one, and we never sell or rent your details to anyone.
Payment data
Card details are entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe, and never touch our servers — we see only the last four digits and the outcome. If you pay by PayPal we see even less. We cannot leak what we don’t hold.
Stripe and PayPal process your payment under their own privacy policies, which you can read on their websites.
Data security
The whole site is served over an encrypted connection, payments go through PCI-compliant processors, and access to order records is limited to the people who need it to help you. No system on the internet is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — but we hold very little, and what we hold is protected.
Data retention
We keep your order record for as long as we need it to provide your download, honour the refund policy and meet our accounting obligations. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as it takes to resolve them. When information is no longer needed we delete it or strip anything that identifies you.
Sharing with third parties
We share your data only with the services that make the shop work: Stripe and PayPal for payment, our email provider for receipts and download links, and our hosting provider. Each of them is contractually bound to keep your information confidential and to use it only for the job we gave them. Beyond that, we disclose personal data only when the law requires it.
Cookies
A session cookie so checkout works, and a cookie remembering your consent choice. If analytics are enabled, they load only after you consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; checkout may not work without the session cookie.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can also object to how we use it or ask for a copy in a portable format. Email support@thecryptosecret.com and we will action it within 7 business days. Deleting your account also deletes your download access, so keep a copy of the PDF first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page, and the date at the top tells you when that last happened. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will email everyone with an active account before it takes effect.
